The silly jolly Superman (Spoilers ahead)
This movie rocks! I'm usually not a big fan of superhero movies, but this one was so much fun. James Gunn really know how to make fun superhero movies. I loved how Superman isn't this invincible god, but actually has weaknesses (apart from kryptonite ofc), this made the action scenes a lot more exciting. I also love the "Justice gang".
By far my favorite part of this movie was Lex Luthor, not because I like his character, but because I totally hate him. He is the biggest Superman hater on planet earth, and that's basically his whole motive. He literally made thousands of "monkey bots" in a pocket dimension just to post hate tweets towards Superman. It's refreshing to see such a cartoonishly evil villain without a sad backstory or whatever. I also love Krypto the super dog, and at times I felt like he was even stronger than Superman. Speaking of Superman, what a great portrayal! I was getting a bit tired of seeing superman (and equavalents like Omni-man and Homelander) becoming/being a villain, and it was great to see him be a good guy again. I didn't even know he had a sort of "no-kill policy", like Spider-man and Batman, but apparently he does (although he did laser down a bunch of Luthor's henchman at the end).
Like most James Gunn movies the colors and cinematography are pure eyecandy. It's fun, interesting, beautiful at times, without feeling snobby when pointing it out. I especially loved the flying scenes, they felt so lively and fast (just like in GotG 3, also directed by Gunn).
If there's anything I'd change, I would of liked there to be more character developement for Hawk-girl and Mr Terrific, since I wasn't all too familiar with those characters. Still a good movie tho! Worth a watch, especially if you're a DC fan or just like action movies.
